Job Description

As the Inside Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role in supporting our sales efforts while also managing various administrative functions. This hybrid position combines responsibilities from inside sales and administrative roles to ensure seamless operations within the sales department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Support and Customer Relationship Management:
    • Increase sales revenue and profit margins of existing, small to mid-size accounts by ensuring their needs are met and providing product recommendations based on technical compatibility, regulatory compliance, and other pertinent considerations.
    • Achieve sales quota of new clients and produce revenue and profit margins by nurturing these new connections.
    • Provide basic technical support and assist with troubleshooting as needed.
    • Utilize eChempax CRM software to update customer information, enter prospective customers, create and update quotations, and manage sample requests.
    • Actively prospect for new clients using digital lead services, business directories, and web searches.
  • Product and Market Knowledge:
    • Develop a strong understanding of our products, including dyes and pigments, to suggest the best-suited products based on customer needs.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and competitive products to provide relevant insights to customers.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Participate in ongoing training to enhance job-related skills and knowledge, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes, particularly in relation to sales and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
    • High school diploma with 3 years of equivalent experience in an office environment may be considered.
  • Skills and Experience:
    • Proven ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver excellent customer service.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and basic knowledge of WordPress; knowledge of CRM software such as Salesforce or HubSpot. eChempax experience is a plus.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues professionally.
    • A self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Willingness to learn about the specialty chemical industry, including colorants and market trends.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Ability to work well across functions, including sales, R&D, and supply chain.
    • Ability to travel as needed, up to 10% of the time.
