Account Specialist
REPORTS TO: Sales Leader CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
The Account Specialist is responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with existing customers in their assigned territory, secure all reorder SKU's, grow the customer by securing New Order SKU's, achieve the annual Sales Goal and maintain target Gross Profit %, and manage customer service issues as they arise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Achieve annual sales goal and maintain target Gross Profit %.
- Manage and cultivate relationships with existing assigned customers.
- Secure all ReOrder SKUs.
- Create, qualify, and close New SKU business with existing customers.
- Support the onboarding of new customers as they are acquired.
- Be experts related to your customer, our products, and solutions to create ongoing value.
- Be experts in our sales process, customer onboarding process and our sales tools and systems.
- Maintain and update CRM systems with all sales activity and sales pipeline.
- Provide sales forecasts as required.
- Source products as needed to protect ReOrder SKUs and grow New SKUs.
- Manage the complaint process and collaborate cross-functionally to insure resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Support all stages of the sales process, including serving as the liaison for clients to troubleshoot any issues arising through the sales process ensuring our service ideals are met.
- Accountable for preparing accurate sales proposals by working with suppliers and customers. Obtain data to help determine any special requirements, freight estimates, and pricing to provide comprehensive sales proposals.
- Provide drawings, specifications, samples, as needed by customers to support the sales process.
- Responsible for working within multiple software programs to investigate client orders and/or providing the Sales Leader with critical data for planning purposes.
- General support of the Sales and Marketing functions of our company as needed.
Education and Experience: To excel in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor's degree desired. Additional B2B Sales Training is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of B2B sales experience, with a focus on selling product packaging, chemical ingredients, or consumable industrial supplies to new customers, where prospecting and relationships are critical to success.
- A proven track record of consistently achieving quota in a business development role.
- Proficiency with CRM systems for activity reporting and the Microsoft Office suite.
