VP of Engineering & Operations

Department: SX/Endocorp
Location: Southfield, MI

Position Overview:

As the Vice President of Engineering and Operations, you will lead and transform our engineering and operations functions. This strategic role involves aligning our operational capabilities with long-term growth objectives. Your leadership will be critical in optimizing processes, boosting productivity, and ensuring that our CCD Division, Service Division, and Parts Division run efficiently. You will oversee key areas such as Shipping, Inventory, and Material Handling, while fostering innovation, enhancing quality, and improving employee engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, particularly in wire harnesses and electronic components, along with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.

Key Objectives:

1. Strategic Development: Establish our growth strategy by leveraging expertise in engineering and electronic components to drive innovation and excellence.

2. Operational Excellence: Implement effective production planning and scheduling to align with sales forecasts and efficiently meet customer demands. Optimize the order fulfillment process for enhanced accuracy, speed, and customer satisfaction. Lead initiatives to ensure all inventory is organized.

3. Quality and Compliance: Oversee quality control processes to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all divisions.

4. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Promote the use of advanced technologies and automation to enhance inspection processes, lower costs, and improve product quality, while actively seeking process optimization opportunities.

5. Employee Development and Engagement: Recruit and develop team members to exceed performance expectations and embody company values. Create individual talent development plans and establish our University for ongoing training. Collaborate with leadership to identify necessary skills and talent for achieving goals.

Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.

  • Significant experience in engineering and operations management within automotive, medical device, or high-tech manufacturing industries.
  • A strong history of leading large teams, managing multiple divisions, and achieving operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of PCB components, wire harnesses, and electronic parts, along with a solid understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Experience in demand forecasting, inventory management, and quality control, with a focus on adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of overseeing complex projects from start to finish. Strong financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets and optimizing operational costs.
