JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Regional Sales Manager
SUMMARY: This position reports directly to the Regional Sales Leader. This qualified individual will be responsible for cultivating, growing and managing a high-quality, value-added industrial product line to all targeted end-users, through a select distribution network. Minimum expectations are to successfully meet and or exceed all sales growth objectives and profitably goals, along with controlling expenses, within a designated territory or market. This individual must also be able to successfully monitor industry trends in order to identify new and emerging markets, along with developing corresponding sales strategies in order to expand revenues within those markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cultivate, grow, and manage an existing customer base within the territory.
- Consistently meet or exceed all sales growth and profitability goals on an annual basis.
- Develop a selective Distribution Network designed to support all end-user business growth opportunities within the territories various target markets.
- Organize and conduct targeted distributor sales meetings and trainings designed to increase product knowledge and new market opportunities.
- Consistently enhance, maintain, and utilize a CRM database (Salesforce) to ensure accurate reporting of all account information and personnel data.
- Consistently execute and utilize the usage of MS Office, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Identify, target, and develop new market end-user opportunities within the territory on a consistent basis (prospecting).
- Utilize an excellent written, verbal and listening skill set in order to better understand customer needs and to properly communicate to all levels of the customer base.
- Demonstrate a mechanical or technical skill set in order to adequately showcase the superior performance, cost savings and the overall value proposition of our product line.
- Respond and follow-up on all sales leads and inquiries in an expedited timeframe by any appropriate manner necessary (ex.- phone calls, email, fax)
- Accurately submit all sales reports and special project requests in a consistent and timely manner.
- Attend and represent us in various trade shows and open house events, both regionally and nationally.
- Properly communicate all relevant competitor and market information, both written and verbal, to the National Sales Manager.
- Overnight travel required, up to 50% - 75% of the time.
- Complete all special projects in a timely manner, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4 Year College Degree, BS or BA is preferred, but not required.
- 5 - 10 years of industrial field sales experience, Distribution knowledge is preferred.
- Must be ethical, personally driven and a self-starter.
- Must be able to demonstrate a willingness and desire to succeed in all facets of the business.
- Must be an excellent listener, with the ability to demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills to all facets of the customer base (C-level executives to floor level employees).
- Must be able to formulate, develop and execute a strategic business plan.
- Must possess either a mechanical or technical skill set in order to accurately demonstrate our overall Value Proposition.
- Must possess and demonstrate outstanding Time Management skills.
- Must show attention to detail in all areas of the territory and possess strong presentation and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to effectively control and manage all business expenses.
- Must be proficient in CRM databases, MS Office, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel overnight, up to 50% - 75% of the time.
- Valid Driver’s License / Passport required.
